Checked until they rise right
Squishies fail in predictable ways — smell, stickiness, leaks, cracked paint — and regulators look at them closely. Here is what we check and what your market needs.

PU foam
- Rise time vs approved sample
- Chemical odour
- Paint rub and cracking
- Sealed individual bags

TPR
- Oil bleed and stickiness
- Tear and stretch
- Fill leakage
- Colour transfer

Silicone
- Cure smell
- Tear at thin parts
- Clarity and bubbles
- Dust pick-up
By market
What testing applies
| Market | Usually applies | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| EU | EN71-1, -2, -3; REACH; CE marking; GPSR | An EU-based responsible person is required to sell under GPSR. |
| UK | EN71 series; UKCA or CE marking; UK REACH | Under the UK Toys (Safety) Regulations. |
| USA | ASTM F963; CPSIA lead and phthalates; tracking labels | The US importer issues the Children’s Product Certificate (CPC) based on CPSC-accepted lab tests. California Prop 65 may need a warning. |
| Amazon | Market tests above plus Amazon’s document requests | Toy categories often require test reports and a CPC before listing. |
General guidance, not legal advice. Requirements depend on age grade, product and channel — we confirm the test plan with you and an accredited lab (such as SGS, Intertek or BV) before testing.

Existing reports
“Same product” reports, checked
Buyers are often shown a test report for a “similar” squishy. Our reports are matched to the exact product, material and colour, from an accredited lab and recent — and if an existing report doesn’t match your item, we test your batch.
In 2018 the Danish EPA found harmful substances in several PU squishies sold in Europe and many were withdrawn — which is why we push for chemical testing on PU orders going to the EU and UK.
